Check stock paper
Check stock paper is blank or partly blank sheet stock made for printing checks. It usually includes security features such as watermarks, pantographs or chemical-reactive ink so altered checks are easier to spot.
What to look for
Letter-size sheets that yield three checks, security background, and a MICR-friendly clear band at the bottom if you will print routing and account numbers yourself.
Software and stock
Check printing software fills payee, amount and date onto the stock. Ordered pre-printed checks already show your bank numbers. Blank stock plus software is common for small businesses that print often.

Questions
Can I use plain copy paper?
Only if your bank accepts it. Most prefer security check stock for business payments.
Do I still need software?
Yes if the stock is blank. Software lays out the fields and can add a MICR line on paid plans.
